F3 Lingo
Your first COT will sound like a foreign language. That's on purpose, and it's half the fun. Every term you'll hear in the gloom, from AO to Whetstone. 33 terms and counting.
AO
Area of Operation: a workout location. Every AO is a local point of impact and a leadership outpost.
PAX
The men of F3. You, after your first post.
FNG
Friendly New Guy: a man at his first workout. Gets a battle buddy, and a name in the COT.
The Gloom
The pre-dawn dark where F3 posts. Rain, heat, cold, or darkness, we show up.
Post
To show up at a workout. "Post at Wash Park Saturday."
Q
The man leading the workout that day. It rotates. Never a paid trainer.
VQ
Virgin Q: your first time leading. Most men take it around eight weeks in.
Beatdown
The workout itself: 45 minutes, high intensity, different every time.
Weinke
The Q's written workout plan. Structure with purpose.
Warm-O-Rama
The opening warm-up. Never skipped.
COT
Circle of Trust: how every workout ends. Count-o-rama, name-o-rama, announcements, and TAPs.
Name-O-Rama
Every PAX states his F3 name in the COT; the count is recorded.
TAPs
Thoughts and prayers: the closing word. A prayer or a moment of silence; every man leads it his own way.
Ball of Man
The huddle formation for TAPs at the close of the COT.
EH
Emotional Headlock: the invitation. How every man arrives: someone EH'd him. One invitation can change a life.
HIM
High Impact Man: what F3 builds. A man who leads at home, at work, and in his community.
Sad Clown
A man who has lost purpose: surviving, isolated, hiding it behind a mask. F3 exists to eradicate Sad Clown Syndrome.
Battle Buddy
The PAX assigned to an FNG so he's never lost or alone. He follows up after, too.
Coffeeteria
Coffee and conversation after the beatdown. Where the workout becomes a brotherhood.
2nd F
Fellowship: the glue. Coffeeteria, lunches, happy hours, family events.
3rd F
Faith: the dynamite. Living with purpose and serving beyond yourself. Not about religion.
CSAUP
Completely Stupid And Utterly Pointless: a big shared-suffering event. Long rucks, races, challenges. The stories you'll tell for years.
Ruck
Walking with a weighted pack. Strength and conversation at a steady clip.
Coupon
A cinder block or other heavy object the Q makes you carry. You'll meet one.
Merkin
A push-up. There will be many.
Mosey
A light jog between stations.
Six
The back of the group. "Cover the six" means no man left behind.
Mumblechatter
The banter that keeps a beatdown fun. Encouraged.
Shovel Flag
The AO's flag, planted at every workout. Find it and you've found us.
Whetstone
A mentor pairing: iron sharpening iron beyond the workout.
Shieldlock
A small circle of brothers committed to each other's growth and backs.
Q Source
F3's leadership curriculum, the default text for COT shares and study groups.
Sector / Region
F3 Nation is organized into 7 sectors → areas → regions → AOs. Denver, Denver South, and DOCO are our regions.
Every FNG survives it
